Banded Side Step
-
Place a band above or below the knees and a second band around the ankles.
-
Stand with feet hip-width apart and the feet parallel with each other (make sure the toes never flare out).
-
Drive the knees out wide, aligned with the feet.
-
Take each step by driving with the trail leg, NOT with the lead leg. For example, when stepping to the left, it is a push with the right foot that initiates the movement.
-
DO NOT allow the knees to cave in, as well as the toes flare out.

NOTE: This can also be done with just one band. The band can either be above or below the knees, or around the ankles.
